Sustainable entrepreneurship and new employment
The Enterprise Agencies help annually over 15 000 persons planning entrepreneurship. Approximately half of them start an enterprise and another share starts working in an entrepreneur-like way through different services for light entrepreneurs.
The network of the Enterprise Agencies has been operating in Finland for over 30 years and the results are clearly evident. A study on effectiveness shows that 80 percent of the enterprises started through Enterprise Agencies are still in operation after five years, whereas the equivalent number of all enterprises is 50 percent. The effect of the Enterprise Agencies services on the sustainability of enterprises is clear.
According to the study, enterprises started through an Enterprise Agency created approximately 1,3 person-workyears during their founding year. In the course of five years the amount of person-workyears has doubled to 2,6. On a yearly level this means approximately 10 000 new jobs.
