Operations subject to authorisation

Some sectors require a permit or notification. At the planning stage, find out whether these requirements apply to you.

Many sectors – such as restaurants, transport, health care, beauty care or construction – require official permits or registration before operations can begin. The permit may concern, for example, the hygiene of facilities, the entrepreneur’s education or the suitability of the persons liable. Every new entrepreneur should check the special requirements of their own sector well in advance, as the permit process may take weeks.

You must also take into account, according to the sector, for example, the regulations on outdoor sales, licences related to import and export, and producer liability in certain sectors, such as electronics, tyres and packaging – that is, the obligation to take care of waste management and recycling of products. Issues related to copyrights and trademarks may also affect the launch of operations: the name, logo or content used may not infringe the rights of others. Entrepreneurs should map out these matters already at the planning stage, using expert assistance if necessary.
