In Finland, there are thousands of people interested in entrepreneurship every year, but few embark on the path alone. Uusyrityskeskus Agencies offer a low-threshold service where developing a business idea, evaluating a business plan, and solving practical questions related to entrepreneurship are done together with experienced professionals. Annually, over 15,000 people receive support through the Enterprise Agencies, and approximately half of them end up establishing a company.

The value of consultation is evident above all in the results. While only about half of all new companies in Finland continue operating after five years, as many as 80 percent of companies established through the Enterprise Agencies are still viable. This shows that high-quality, free coaching strengthens the sustainability of companies and helps avoid the pitfalls of the early stages.

The impacts extend beyond the individual entrepreneur. Each company established with the support of an Enterprise Agency employs an average of 1.3 person-years already in its first year of operation. After five years, the figure grows to 2.6 person-years. This means that up to 10,000 new jobs are created through the Enterprise Agency network every year. This is a significant contribution to the country’s overall employment and economic well-being.
